Early Career

Born on the 1st July 1945 in Miami, Florida Deborah Ann Harry (born Angela Trimble) who was adopted at three months by Catherine (Peters) and Richard Smith Harry, gift shop proprietors in Hawthorne, New Jersey. She moved to New York City in the late 1960s and worked as a secretary at BBC Radio’s office. Later, she was a waitress at Max’s Kansas City, a go-go dancer in a Union City, New Jersey, discothèque, and a Playboy Bunny. Harry was as a back-up vocalist in The Wind in the Willows, and then went on to join The Stilettos in 1974.

Deborah Harry, American singer, songwriter, and actress with Blondie who scored five UK No.1 singles including the 1979 UK & US No.1 single ‘Heart Of Glass’ and the 1978 world-wide No.1 album Parallel Lines. As a solo artists she scored the 1986 UK No. 8 single ‘French Kissing In The USA’. Her acting career spans over thirty film roles and numerous television appearances.
