Guitar great ERIC CLAPTON talks with Larry and fields caller questions on the February 12th 1998 broadcast of Larry King Live.

I always thought it was a good quality that Eric could talk about his problems without beating around the bush and taking full responsibility. In his book it’s the same thing, I think he’s a very brave and honest guy. Fer Avanti

I’ve been one of Clapton’s biggest fans since about the Disraeli Gears album. I think Sunshine of your Love was when I first took notice. Clapton is not God, and I think he’d be the first to admit that, but he is without a doubt the finest guitar player I’ve ever heard. I’ve watched him grow musically for well over 50 years and he just gets better all the time.
What he’s said in this interview, I’m surprised to say, I can really relate to.
Eric, you are the Cream of the crop! 820hurleyj

Found blues rock via Clapton around ~1970, that took me to pure blues. Blues rock and blues have been with me ever since. Maybe not God, but Clapton is special. 52 year fan. J. R.

“Did Cream have hits?” Ha! Eric at his modest best! For starters; Sunshine of Your Love, Crossroads (who knew about Robert Johnson before Cream came along?), White Room, Badge, Strange Brew…..Anyone For Tennis? Mike Goldthwaite
